Morph Outcome Probability Calculator Guide

The Morph Outcome Probability Calculator uses Punnett square genetics logic to predict offspring outcomes from any reptile pairing.

How to use it:

  • Select the sire (male) genetic traits including visual morphs and het status
  • Select the dam (female) genetic traits including visual morphs and het status
  • Click Calculate to see all possible offspring outcomes with probabilities

  • Understanding your results:

  • Each outcome shows the percentage probability for an individual egg
  • Probabilities are statistical — a clutch of 6 eggs will not always match exact percentages
  • "Het" means the animal carries one copy of a recessive gene but does not show it visually
  • "66% possible het" means there is a 2-in-3 chance the animal carries the gene

  • Common inheritance modes:

  • Recessive: Requires two copies to be visual (e.g., Clown, Pied, Axanthic)
  • Co-dominant: One copy shows a phenotype, two copies (super) shows a different form (e.g., Pastel, Fire)
  • Dominant: One copy shows the full trait, super form looks identical
