Feeding Schedule & Log Guide

The Feeding page helps you stay on top of feeding schedules across your entire collection.


Daily feeding workflow:

  • Check the "Due Today" section for animals scheduled to eat
  • Prepare appropriate prey items (size should match widest body diameter)
  • Offer food and log the result using the quick-log form
  • Mark as accepted or refused with notes

    • Color-coded status:

  • Red (Overdue) — Animal is past its scheduled feeding window
  • Amber (Due Today) — Scheduled to feed today
  • Green (Fed Recently) — Successfully fed within schedule

    • Tracking metrics:

  • Acceptance rate per animal (helpful for identifying picky feeders)
  • Average feeding interval
  • Prey size progression over time
  • Refusal patterns (seasonal, during shed, etc.)

    • Handling refusals:

    If an animal refuses, note the conditions (time of day, temperature, prey type). Try again in 3-5 days. Consistent refusals lasting 4+ weeks warrant a health check.
