Clutch Tracking & Incubation Guide

The Clutches page helps you track every clutch from lay date through hatch day.

Logging a new clutch:

  • Select the sire and dam from your collection
  • Enter the lay date and total egg count (fertile, infertile, slugs)
  • Set incubation temperature and humidity targets
  • The system auto-calculates expected hatch date and creates a countdown

  • Monitoring during incubation:

  • Track individual egg status at each weekly check
  • Monitor incubation conditions (temperature, humidity)
  • View expected morph outcomes based on parent genetics
  • Get alerts when hatch window approaches

  • Status tracking:

  • Incubating — Eggs in the incubator, countdown active
  • Hatching — Within the hatch window, pipping expected
  • Hatched — All viable eggs have hatched
  • Failed — Clutch did not produce viable hatchlings

  • Important: Always verify incubation conditions with physical thermometer/hygrometer readings. Never rely solely on digital displays.
